Dr. Ellis earned her Bachelors Degree in Child Development and Family Relationships at Cornell University. She obtained a Masters degree in Health Education from Columbia University and a second Masters degree in Psychology from Hofstra University. She obtained her doctorate in psychology from Hofstra University. She studied at and earned the Primary Certificate in Rational Emotive Therapy from the Albert Ellis Institute in New York City, formerly known as the Institute for Advanced Study in Rational Psychotherapy at the Institute for Rational Emotive Therapy.
Dr. Ellis taught college for two years in the field of Health Education. She worked as a Licensed Psychologist in schools, mental health clinics, hospitals, and private practice. She has been in private practice as a licensed psychologist in Pinellas County, Florida for over 30 years.
Dr. Ellis is deeply committed to helping people solve and manage their problems, understand their emotions, and learn to live their lives as fully as possible. Her training in health education and psychology combined with her experience teaching college and practicing psychology, contributes to her philosophy of treatment, that most problems can be solved with education and therapy.
Dr. Ellis offers a variety of therapeutic treatments and scientific methods to help patients solve and resolve the problems they bring to therapy and achieve the goal of emotional wellness.
